Based in Danvers, Mass., the General Lighting unit manufactures incandescent, fluorescent and high-intensity discharge lamps at seven plants in the United States, Canada and Mexico. I'm responsible for programming and operating the CNC equipment in our Turning center department. This would include managing all of the tooling components, the jigs we have created, basically everything needed to run the machine. Each machinist is responsible for all aspects – the setup, programming the job and then running the part to finished specs.
